Public Comments:

George Hebert, Waterside Way, “Enclosed in the folders, are plans and a photo for the 787 proposal.  We believe these are not up to ADA regulations.  Trucks trying to enter that circle are not going to have room if they have to stop for any reason.  The back end of the trucks will be stuck in the circle.  We attended the DOT meeting and felt that our concerns were not being taken into consideration.”

Mayor Morse, “Please understand this is not the final plan.  We have made it very clear to DOT we will not approve a plan that we do not find suitable.  We are not interested in a round about that is not safe for pedestrians.  We need something that slows traffic down so pedestrians are able to safely cross.”

Unknown speaker, “We will be unable to get onto Dyke Ave., to go to Price Chopper.  I think they should put in speed bumps.  They don’t like speed bumps.”

Mayor Morse, “We appreciate your opinion, and all concerns from everyone will be considered and taken back to DOT.”

Sila Pier, 2111 Waterside Way, “We are only opposed to the round about, not the boulevard.”

Mayor Morse, “We are not going to allow something that would not be safe.  Our main concern is safety for everyone.”

Nate Kelman, “I commend you for obtaining the fund to fix the situation; I also want to state that I am a proponent of round a bouts.”
