PRESENT:                                                                  EXCUSED:
Council President Briggs                                           Mayor Morse
Council Member Smith                                              Council Member Russell
Council Member McCarthy
Council Member Napier
Council Member Koniowka
Council Member Koniowka made a MOTION to approve the minutes from March 22, 2016.  Seconded by Council Member Smith.  All members voted “AYE”, the motion passed.
At 7:00 PM, Public Comment period began.
Charlie, 326 Ontario St., “There is a big problem with drug dealers and heroin use in my neighborhood.  They use the old Bonies parking lot, and I am picking up syringes all the time.  The area needs police walking the beat.  I spent two hours cleaning up the area over the weekend.  This is low income housing and brings in drugs.  We need to get undercover patrols out there.”
Council Member Smith, “Maybe we can expand our foot patrol.”
Charle, “It takes much longer to get a call dispatched now that it goes to the County.  The last two years have been the worst.  The first block of Olmstead St. is the worst.  We don’t need more low income housing in Cohoes.”
Council President Briggs, “I have a standing meeting with the Mayor every Tuesday morning; I will bring this to his attention.  This is a problem every community has.  We will see how we can improve the situation.”
Charlie, “I appreciate all the help I can get.  I will leave my phone number on record.”
Council Member Smith, “Saturday, the girl’s softball parade starts at 10:00 AM, and the game is at 11:00 AM.  Meeting at Breslin & Park Avenues.  We would like a Police Escort.”
At 7:15 PM, Council Member Smith made a MOTION to adjourn.  Seconded by Council Member McCarthy.  All members voted “AYE”.
