The Planning Board considers requests for special use permits, site plan approvals and subdivisions. Special Use Permits vary depending on the zoning district, but generally include home occupations and swimming pools. Site plan approvals encompass new developments, parking lot plans and signage for businesses. Subdivisions include minor subdivisions of three or fewer parcels and major subdivisions of more than four parcels. Standards for each can be found in the Zoning Code for the City of Cohoes at www.cohoes.com by clicking on City Code Online. Type in one of the approvals as a search term.

 

The Board meets once per month on the second Monday at 6:30pm in the Common Council Chamber of City Hall, 97 Mohawk Street, Cohoes, NY. Applications are available on the website at www.cohoes.com under Forms Center. Submit completed application and supporting materials to the Department of Building and Planning.
