The Cohoes Kiwanis focus on youth oriented events. We sponsor the Annual Halloween Parade and Party at the Cohoes Community Center. We also sponsor a Christmas Party for needy children in conjunction with the annual tree lighting. Children have an opportunity to meet Santa and get their picture taken. We co-sponsor the Family Festival at Van Schaick Island with the neighborhood watch and participate in the city wide clean up. Volunteers are always needed for all of the above events.
Teenagers in 6th grade and up are welcome to volunteer.

Holiday Tree Lighting-Assisting with decorating Canal Square and helping out the day of the event.
Concerts in Canal Square-Distributing schedules to the audience.
Beautification Day-Helping to clean up specified areas in the city.
Van Schaick Island Fall Festival-Manning the Caretaker information booth and assisting with clean up throughout the day.
Canal Square-Assisting with ongoing clean up in Canal Square.
Youth ages 10 and up are also welcome to volunteer with the Cohoes Caretakers.
City of Cohoes Character Committee

Committee members are needed. Members are expected to attend one meeting per month for one hour. The Committee plans Character Counts! related events for the City-Wide Character Initiative. The Committee also assists at several events including the Turkey Trot, Halloween Parade, Winter Carnival and Easter Egg Hunt. Volunteers are always needed at these events and youth ages 13 and up are welcome to volunteer with us.
