Beautification Shout Out to the alumni of the Leadership Tech Valley Class of 2013!

On Saturday, October 4, 2014 the alumni of the Leadership Tech Valley Class of 2013 beat the rain and spent the morning trimming hedges,

weeding and raking leaves at the Cohoes Multi-Service Senior Citizen Center.

The clean-up was organized by Senior Center Executive Director Keith Hornbrook and Leadership Tech Valley Class of 2013 Alum, Chris Nolin.

The City of Cohoes would like to extend a thank you to the group!

Adopt-A-Planter Program

  Available for Cohoes Businesses!

The Adopt-A-Planter Program is a community effort in generating street level vitality and greatly enhancing the ambience along the streets of Cohoes.  Any participating business receives a city provided planter, soil and flowers for their store front.

As a Planter Partner we ask you to follow these three simple steps to a beautiful Cohoes:

  • Plant the city provided plants in the planter
  • Keep the planter free of litter and debris
  • Water the plants (Five gallons of water, three times a week is the most successful watering schedule.)

Adopt-A-Park Program

Any individual, family, civic organization or business can adopt a park!

The main goal of the Adopt–a-Park program is to:

Keep our parks free of litter, debris and weeds
Have someone earmarked to report any damaged or broken equipment
To keep our community a beautiful place to live, play and enjoy!

As an Adopt-a-Park Partner, you can have fun with your park- decorate for seasonal holidays and plant perennials! Also, adopting a park is a great Service Learning activity for youth groups and students.

As a thank you for your commitment, Adopt-A-Park participants receive discounts at local flower shops for any items purchased for their adopted park.
